From Bolivia

While tours of the Bolivian Salt Flats begin at three different destinations: Uyuni in Bolivia, San Pedro de Atacama in Chile and Tupiza in Bolivia. If you are coming from Bolivia, the most popular option is to begin the tour in the remote town, Uyuni.

The most popular way to travel from La Paz to Uyuni is to take an 8 hour overnight bus. These buses depart at night and arrive early in the morning, allowing travelers to start their tour of the flats that same day. For any visitors traveling from outside of La Paz, Uyuni is also accessible from all other major cities in Bolivia by bus.

Again, if you are short on time, then you could alternatively book a flight from La Paz to Uyuni. These flights can be booked for the cost of $130 round trip. This is the perfect option for travelers short on time as the journey takes only one hour.
